3 men seek protection with Jaffna HRC

Two family men from Thenmaraadchi and one youth from Pa'ndaitharippu sought protection with Human Rights Council (HRC) Jaffna Tuesday due to threats from Sri Lanka Army (SLA) and SLA-backed paramilitaries, HRC sources said.
One family man, 28, is from Meesaalai north in Chaavakachcheari, and the other, a father of 3 children, is from Meesaalai, Kodikaamam.
The youth is a resident of Chillaalai in Pa'ndaitharippu.
HRC officials are making arrangements to produce the three men at Jaffna Court so that they could be placed in the protective custody at Jaffna prison.
More than one hundred civilians had sought protection with HRC Jaffna from Thenmaraadchi area in the past several months.
