The parents of the two Jaffna University students who died in the Lion Air flight crash on September 29, in Mannar, will sue the authorities for compensation said sources in Mannar.

They will file a case at the Mannar District Court within the next few days they added.

The parents and relatives of the passengers in the ill fated flight, along with the bishop of Mannar, Rev. Rajappu Joseph, are preparing for the case in which they will demand from the authorities death certificates and compensation for those died in the crash.

The case will be filed by the parents of Jaffna University students, Edward Thiriceta Arulmani and Imakkuleta Fernando, all from Vangalai in Mannar.

Two fishermen from Pallikudha who are said to have seen the flight crashing in the sea off Iranaithivu, are expected to be witnesses in the case, the sources added. Debris of the plane will also be produced in the courts.
