University Security officer, 2 family men shot dead in Jaffna

Unidentified armed men shot dead a security officer of Jaffna University Friday night, and in two separate shootings, motorcycle gunmen shot dead Friday night and Saturday early morning two family men, one in Ariyaalai and the other in Urumpiraai south, sources in Jaffna said.

The university security officer is yet to be identified.

The family man shot dead Friday night was identified as Thurairasa Jeyarasa, 42, a resident of Ariyaalai, Jaffna.

The killers arriving on a motorcycle to Jeyarasa’s house around 8:00 p.m Friday shot him dead.

The family man shot killed in Urumpiraai south was identified as Palaniyandi Selvarasa, 32.

Selvarasa was on his way to the Pi’laiyaar Temple in Urumpiraai south when the gunmen on motorcycle shot him dead.
