Tiger boats sunk - SLN

The Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) claimed today that its gunboats operating in the seas off Mullaithivu between Alampil and Semmalai intercepted and destroyed five Sea Tiger vessels early this morning around 5.30 a.m.
SLN sources said that its craft suffered no damage in the engagement with the Sea Tigers.
Meanwhile informed sources in the eastern port town of Trincomalee said that nine fishermen from the village of Kokkuthoduvaai on the southern coast of Mullaithivu who were fishing in the same area early this morning have been reported missing.
Sources said that there were no other vessels except the fishing boats in the sea between Semmalai and Alampil in the early hours of the morning today.
