Decomposed body of young woman found in Neduntheevu

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 18 December 2007, 17:56 GMT]
Neduntheevu (Delft) police recovered, on information given by local residents Tuesday, the headless body of a young woman in a highly decomposed state, washed ashore along Veílílai Kadatkarai in Neduntheevu, an islet of Jaffna under total control of Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), sources in Jaffna said.

The young woman was likely decapitated before being dumped into the sea, local residents said.

Police handed over the body to Jaffna Teaching hospital Tuesday afternoon for postmortem examinations.

A decapitated body of a male was found washed ashore in Pungkuditheevu, another Jaffna islet under the control of SLN, earlier.
