Two LTTE casualties in Mannar

Two Liberation Tigers were killed and a Sri Lankan Army (SLA) soldier was woundd in a fire-fight at Hospital Road in Mannar around 12.30 a.m. The SLA cordoned off and conducted a house-to-house search opeartion in the area after the incident.

Army sources said that they had recovered two bodies of the Liberation Tigers killed in the fire-fight.

They said the Tigers had opened fire at a SLA patrol who had gone to search a house near the convent.

The wounded soldier was brought to the Mannar hospital and was latter transferred to Anuradhapura hospital.
