20 SLA killed, 62 wounded in Mannaar - LTTE[TamilNet, Sunday, 09 March 2008, 17:17 GMT]Liberation Tigers Operations Command in Mannaar on Sunday said 20 Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers were killed Saturday in heavy fighting that lasted for 8 hours from 9:50 a.m. in Cheaththukku'lam in Mannaar. 62 SLA soldiers were wounded, the Tigers said. On Sunday, 2 SLA soldiers were killed in Pa'ndivirichchaan in an intense clash that lasted for 45 minutes from 12:00 p.m. 13 SLA soldiers were killed Friday in Pa'ndivirichchaan in heavy fighting that lasted from 11.00 a.m. till 3.00 p.m. 7 SLA soldiers were wounded Saturday in a booby trap explosion at Koayilmoaddai, according to the LTTE. 3 of the SLA soldiers sustained severe injuries. The LTTE has not released own casualty figures.
