Youth shot dead in Jaffna

Unidentified armed men shot and killed a youth Monday around 6:15 a.m in front of his house at Urumpiraai East in Jaffna. He was about to leave his house and step on to Jaffna-Palaali road when the killers opened fire on him.

He was about to leave his house and step on to Jaffna-Palaali road when the killers opened fire on him. The victim was identified as Tharmalingam Sivanesan, 33. Koapaay police recovered Sivanesan’s body and handed it over to Jaffna Teaching hospital mortuary. The killing took place along Jaffna-Palaali road that is under constant watch of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops.
