Twelve Tigers killed in boat accident

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said today that 12 members of the Liberation Tigers, includig a Lt. Colonel were killed in a boat accident in the "Tamil Ealam waters" on December 12.

Their names were given by the radio as:


Lt.Col.Valluvan (Gowrysamy Thilakmohan of Jaffna)
Major Ulagappan (Kariyadas Roshan of Jaffna)
Major Maruhtavaanan ( Logachandran Satheeskumar of Jaffna)
Captain Vaanarasan (Naagoor Rajendran of Jaffna)
Captain Sengannan ( Satkunam Sivakumar of Batticaloa
Captain Pavalaratnam ( Joseph Ganeshkumar of Batticaloa)
Captain Uma (Singaraasa Uthayamalar of Pooneryn)
Captain Mudiayarasi (Thangaraasa Kalaimathy of Jaffna)
Captain Uthayachelvi (Kumaravelu Theeba of Jaffna)
Captain Tharsana (Shanmugaratnam Vijikala of Jaffna)
Lt. Rajaharan (Suvaikeen Stetch of Mannar)
Lt. Kanivalavan (Karuppiah Yogaraasa of Udayaarkaddu)

The radio also said that Kfir jets of the Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) launched air attacks in the Puthukudiyeruppu area this morning.

As the civilians in the vicinity had enough time to take cover in time, there were no casualties said the radio.
