SLA launches artillery attack - VoT

Sri Lankan Army (SLA) units in Mankulam and Oddusuddan carried out artillery attacks ahead of their defences from Friday, said the Voice of Tigers (VoT) in its nightly broadcast yesterday.
Shells fired from Oddusuddan fell in areas around Katchilaimadu unit 4, destroying abandoned houses and public buildings. The shells also caused extensive damages to coconut trees and paddy fields in the area.
Attack continued till 10 a.m. Saturday, the radio added.
The SLA fired artillery shells from Mankulam towards residential areas during the past two days. Details of damages are not yet known.
The radio further said that a female member of the LTTE, Nalaayini, died in a clash with the SLA on Thursday at Oddusuddan.
