Student feared abducted by SLA in Vadamaraadchi

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers who had demanded a student in Karaveddi East, Vadamaraadchi, to hand over his brother, who they claimed was a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) combatant, abducted the said youth, according to complaints made to Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna, by his parents.

The student feared to have been abducted by SLA troops is Nadarajah Navanesan, 23. Navanesan had been missing since 24 April after having left home to attend studies. The parents said that they cannot leave their house due to death threats by SLA soldiers and SLA-backed paramilitaries, the source added.
