2 Tamil civilians abducted in Bambalapitiya, Puththa'lam

A Tamil youth was abducted from his house located along Milagiriya Street in Bambalapitya in Colombo Friday night around 10:00 p.m. The victim is a native of Batticaloa and had been temporarily staying in Bambalapitya, according to complaints lodged with the Bambalapitya Police by his relatives.

He was working as a driver in a NGO in Batticaloa. Bambalapitya Police said they have begun inquiry into this abduction.

In another incident a sixty year-old Tamil person was abducted on Friday night in Va'n'naaththivillu in Puththa'lam by unidentified men came in the vehicle, according to complaints lodged with the Puththa'lam police by his relatives, media sources said.

Meanwhile, Tamil woman Thenmozhi Sangeetha, abducted in Thillaiyadi in Puththa'lam on Sunday evening by armed men who came in a white van was released on Thursday. She is a native of Jaffna and had been residing in Puththa'lam and working in a NGO.
