Girl's body handed over

The Sri Lankan Police handed over a woman's body with gun shot wounds to the Jaffna Hospital this afternoon around 12.30. The Police said they found the body in Palai, a village 40 km. south of Jaffna town.

The body has been identified as of Chanthirasekaram Selvanayaki from Thaalaiyadi; Chempiyanpattu South by her father.

He said some unidentified men abducted his daughter on December 30 when she was on her way to shop.

According to her father she was arrested by the Sri Lankan Army and released in October 1998 on condition that she should come to the camp and sign regularly. His daughter went to the camp also on December 28, he added.
