9 civilians arrested in Dehiwala

Nine Tamil persons were taken into custody by the Dehiwala police in connection with the bomb blast that took place along the rail track Wednesday morning in which eighteen persons were injured. They are being detained in the police station to conduct further inquiries, police sources said.

They are being detained in the police station to conduct further inquiries, police sources said. Police spokesman is reported to have told media Wednesday that two persons had noticed a stranger to the area keeping a parcel on the rail track this morning and fleeing from the site. The bomb blast took place around 7:10 a.m. The police said they had recovered a remote control device from the site.
