Dissident JVP parliamentarian missing, husband complains

Anjana Umma, a dissident parliamentarian of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), who on June 17 expressed her desire to function as independent has not returned home since she left for parliament with two other JVP parliamentarians, according to the complaint lodged with the Mirigama police by her husband Farook Thursday night, an electronic media reported Friday morning.

Ms. Umma had informed her husband through telephone that she was going with JVP parliamentarians Achchala Jagoda and Mohamed Musamil to ensure her personal security, Mr. Farook told Sakthi FM, Friday morning. Thereafter, he lost contact with her.

Mirigama Police confirmed that the husband of Anjana Umma had lodged a complaint with them that his wife was missing since 16th June.
