LTTE attack repulsed -SLA

Sri Lankan Army (SLA) sources said that its troops had repulsed an attack by the Liberation Tigers on the SLA detachment at Oddusuddan in the north-east of the island around midnight yesterday (January 4).

Despite heavy rains the troops were alert repulsed the attack, they added. They said the army did not suffer any casualties.

The LTTE casualties were not known, the sources said.

The attack could not be confirmed independently.

Oddusuddan is a small farming village on the Mankulam-Mullaithivu road, 22 km east of Mankulam. It was captured by the SLA in December last year.
