Jaffna SLA Commander assures co-operation during GCE A/L exam

Jaffna Sri Lanka Army (SLA) Commander, Major. Gen. G. A. Chandrasiri, assured that SLA will co-operate fully to conduct the August General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advance Level Examination in Jaffna peninsula smoothly, in a meeting held Monday in Palaali SLA head quarters, attended by Jaffna Government Agent and Key Education Officials in the peninsula.

Prolonged checking at SLA check posts and the sudden closure of main roads to enable SLA convoys of vehicles to pass through have in earlier occassions prevented candidates sitting for the examination being delayed, or prevented from appearing for the examinations, the Education Officials told the SLA commander.

If candidates are clad in school uniforms and in possession of Admission Cards and other relevant documents when they appear at SLA check posts, they will be given priority to go through checking, Major. Chandrasirr, had said.

All candidates should be in their respective examination halls before 8:30 a.m on the days when examinations are held and there will be no SLA convoys of vehicle passing before 8:30 a.m on examination days, he assured.

GCE A/L examination are scheduled to begin on 6 August.
