Missing family man found dead in Valikaamam

An elderly family man gone missing Friday from his home at Periyavi’laan, Pa’ndaiththarippu in Valikaamam was found dead Monday in an abandoned well near his home. Marks on the body point to torture while the neck bears knife injury.

The victim was identified as Sagarius Jesuthasan, 57.

Residents of the area on noticing the offensive odour from the abandoned well in Mullaiyadi area in Pa’ndaiththarippu had informed I’lavaalaay police.

Mallakam Magistrate Ms. Sarojini Illankovan visited the site and conducted inquires.

The magistrate directed the police to hand over the body to Jaffna Teaching Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination.
