Tamil man abducted in Negombo

A 31-year old Tamil civilian, R.F. Mariyakumar, was abducted Wednesday morning around 6:30 a.m. from his residence along Christ Mawatte in Marawila in Negombo police division by a group of unidentified armed men, according to a complaint lodged by the victim's with the Marawila Police, sources in Colombo said.

Six armed men had come in a white van and took Mariyakumar by force while his wife screamed at the abduction, the complaint further noted.

Marawila police said they have initiated an inquiry into the complaint.
