Unidentified armed men abducted a newly-wed Tamil family man Tuesday around 3:30 p.m at Ko’ndaiyaangkea’ni area in Vaazhaichcheanai police division in Batticaloa district, according to the complaint lodged by his wife with Vaazhaichcheanai police.

The abducted civilian is V. Mahenthiran, 30, a resident of Vaazhaichcheanai Murukan Koayil Veethi. Mahenthiran, who had been married since eleven days ago, was abducted when he went out on personal errand.
