60-year-old woman shot dead in Ampaa'rai

Gunmen believed to the personnel of TMVP paramilitary-cum-political party, entered the residence of 60-year-old Thevarajah Varathaluxmy, a mother of an LTTE commander from Ampaa'rai, shot and killed her Monday night at 10:50, residents said.

Kalmunai Police said the victim was a retired nurse. The body of the victim, a mother of four, has been handed over to Kalmunai Hospital after the police held inquiries at the site of the killing.
