STF Trooper shoots himself dead

A Special Task Force (STF) commando attached to Ka’luvaanngchikkudi STF camp in Batticaloa district shot himself to death Saturday morning 6:00 a.m. inside the camp premises, Ka’luvaangchikkudi police said.

The victim is identified as Jeyasinghe, 29.

His body was transported to Ka’luvaanngchikudi where the medico- legal officer performed the post mortem examination Saturday morning, the director of the hospital told the media.

Ka’luvaanngchikudi police have commenced investigation into the death.
