Nine LTTE casualties - VoT

Six members of the LTTE were killed in two separate clashes with the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) yesterday (January 18), in the north, the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its night transmission.

Five Liberation Tigers died in a clash in the Thenmaradchi area of the Jaffna peninsula:

They are: Major Manimaran ( Ponnambalam Sasitharan of Jaffna), Captain Inban (Saravanamuthu Rasikaran of Jaffna), Captain Sumithiran (Amirthalingam Jeyaseelan of Jaffna), Captain Vithuran (Suntharalingam Suventhiran of Kilinochchi), Captain Rajan (Vellayan Navaratnam of Jaffna)

The radio said, Thendral (Kandasamy Santhirakumar of Amparai) died in Ampakamam, in the Vanni.

Meanwhile, the radio said that the following three members of the Liberation Tigers died in the clash with the Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) in the seas off the Kuchchaveli coast in the Trincomalee district on January 12.

They are: Major Sugi (Alfred Mariyalima Raji of Jaffna) Captain Sahaarah (Tharmarajah Santhakili of Jaffna) 2nd Lt. Silambarasi (Yogenthira Jeyaranjini of Jaffna).
