Male body found in a pond in Thenmaraadchi

Kodikaamam police recovered Saturday a male body with gunshot injuries floating in a pond in Va’ra’ni in Thenmaraadchi on information given by local residents. The victim appears to be between 30 to 35 years of age, the police said.

Due to the continuing rains in the area the body was found only Saturday but it may have been dumped there by the killers two or three days ago who had shot and killed him, residents of Va’ra’ni said.

Kodikaamam police handed over the body to Jaffna Teaching Hospital mortuary Saturday evening for identification.

Hospital authorities have requested the public to help identify the body,
