Katunayake airport security strengthened

Katunayake International Airport has been brought under a new security plan with effect from Tuesday. Passengers have been asked to report to the airport four hours ahead of their scheduled flight, and have been asked not to bring large number of relatives to see them off, media sources reported quoting.

Meanwhile, cordon and search operations were conducted in areas surrounding Katunayake International Airport from Monday evening to locate movement of strangers in the vicinity, police sources said.
