Colombo-Vavuniyaa train service to resume

Direct train service between Colombo and Vavuniyaa, suspended ten months ago due to security reason, is to resume Tuesday morning, sources in Colombo said. The first train bound for Vavuniyaa will leave Tuesday morning at 5:45 am from Fort-Colombo, sources added.

The first train bound for Vavuniyaa will leave Tuesday morning at 5:45 am from Fort-Colombo, sources added. Currently trains from Colombo terminate at Madawachchi. Civilians from Vavuniyaa have to go to Madawachchi by other transport to take train to Colombo.
