Mohan Peiris appointed Sri Lanka's new Attorney General

Mohan Peiris, President Counsel has been appointed Sri Lanka's
twenty-fifth Attorney General. He took oaths Thursday morning before
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Mohan Peiris entered the law profession in 1972. He
worked under renowned lawyer Daya Perera after passing out as a lawyer, legal sources said.
Mr. Mohan Peiris joined the Attorney Generals Department as a State
Counsel in 1981. He was appointed President Counsel in the year 2005.
He has represented Sri Lanka in several international conferences
including Human Rights Commission and other bodies.
