A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldier lost his leg in a landmine blast Tuesday around 5:00 p.m at Colony 10 area, located on the boundary between Batticalao and Ampaa’rai districts, sources in Batticaloa said.

The injured soldier was engaged in a cordon and search in the area as part of a group of SLA soldiers when the blast occurred.
