Tamil youth arrested in Badulla with rifle

Badulla Magistrate Saman Kaariyawasam Friday ordered remand for a Tamil youth on a report by the police that the suspect had been in possession of a rifle at that time of arrest. The suspect was a resident of Thelpatha-Morogolla estate in Badulla district.

The suspect was a resident of Thelpatha-Morogolla estate in Badulla district. Police told court that a police party rushed to the estate on receipt of information and arrested him. But the youth had told the police that he had payed for the rifle from a person he can identify.
