Fifteen Tigers killed in sea battle - SLN

Fifteen Sea Tigers were killed in a battle with the Sri Lankan Navy gunboats and fast attack craft (FAC) this morning in the high seas off the Delft island (Nedunthivu), southwest of the Jaffna peninsula, sources in the north said.

india_lanka.jpgThe Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) claimed that they detected the Sea Tiger convoy between the Delft island and Mannar coming from direction of South India.

The SLN attacked the convoy, sinking two Sea Tiger boats and capturing three.

According to SLN sources in the north the three boats had medical drugs.

The boats are being towed ashore the SLN said.
