Unidentified gunmen forcibly took away a Tamil youth from his house in Ea’raavoor police division and shot him dead, Thursday around 8:30 p.m, in Batticaloa district, according to Ea’raavoor police.

The victim was identified as Yogaraj Rajanikanth, 28, a family man and a resident of Orumu’raichchoalai near Vanthaa’rumoolai village, potter by profession. Rajanikanth’s body is kept in Chengkaladi hospital mortuary. Ea’raavoor is located 18 km north of Batticaloa town.
