Indian High Commissioner visits Trincomalee

Indian High Commissioner Alok Prasad Tuesday paid his first official visit to Trincomalee and met the Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan, the paramilitary operative and UPFA nominated chief minister of the Eastern Province at the latter's office, which is located in the East Provincial Secretariat along Inner Harbour Road in Trincomalee town.

Alok Prasad meets Pillayan Mr. Alok Prasad spent some minutes in the provincial assembly hall watching the proceedings of the monthly meeting of the Eastern Provincial Council was in progress, media sources said. He met Pillayan along with other provincial ministers. Pillayan outlined the proposed development projects to be carried out in the province and sought the assistance of the Government of India.
