Male body found in Chaavakachcheari

Chaavakachcheari police recovered the body of a male in a decomposed stage Friday night from a shrub land close to Chaavakachcheari hospital and handed it over to Jaffna Teaching Hospital mortuary, sources in Jaffna said. The body bears marks of torture before being killed and dumped in the shrub land.

The victim appears to be between 30 to 35 years of age and his body remains unidentified.

He may have been tortured and killed in another place and later brought and dumped in the shrub land near Chaavakachcheari hospital, according to police who recovered the body on information given by local residents.
