Tamil civilian reported missing in Mannaar

A Tamil civilian from Saanthipuram in Mannaar is reported missing since 23 August, according to complaints made by his wife to the police and human rights organization in Mannar Tuesday.

The missing civilian is Mahalingam Janarthanan, 33, a mason by profession and the father of three children.

Janarthanan left home on August 23 morning for work in Pesaalai. Later in the evening around 4.30 p.m he telephoned his wife that he was on his way to Mannaar.

But he failed to return home thereafter, his wife further said in her complaints.
