The eight TNA members of JMC shunned the initial pomp procession from Nalloor Kanthasuvami Koayil Wednesday in which the Mayor of Jaffna, Ms. Yogeswary Patkunam, JMC members of UPFA and allied political parties, Minister Douglas Devananda were led to JMC building.

Meanwhile, the TNA members sat at the entrance of the Fire Station located in JMC premises until the ceremonies including the hoisting of Lion Flag were over.

They later took part in the first session of JMC where they raised the issue of the resettlement of Vanni IDPs held in Sri Lanka Army (SLA) internment camps demanding immediate action by the government, the sources added.

“We attended the sessions of JMC as it is necessary for the benefit of the people,” TNA members said.
