Sri Lanka Army (SLA) authorities in Jaffna said that one of their soldiers shot himself to death Wednesday around 1:20 a.m in a police station located near Post Box Junction along Palaali Road in Jaffna.

SLA soldiers occupying an abandoned house in the area had heard the shot fired around 1:20 a.m, the source said, Koapaay police recovered the body and sent it to the soldier’s hometown.
