Tamil woman beaten to death in Batticaloa

A gang of unidentified men broke into the house of a young Tamil family woman and beat her to death in her sleep Saturday around 11:00 p.m in Kalkudaa police division in Batticaloa district. Police have arrested two suspects and detained them for interrogation and further action.

Police have arrested two suspects and detained them for interrogation and further action. The victim was identified as Kamalenthiran Komathi, 21, the mother of a child and a resident of Vinaayakapuram in Vaazhaichcheanai. Komathi’s body was handed over to her relatives after inquest into the death and post-mortem examination, conducted in Vaazhaichcheanai hospital. Vaazhaichcheanai is located 30 km km north of Batticaloa.
