Youth's body recovered from well in Jaffna

Police recovered the body of a youth Tuesday from a well in A'laveddi in Valikaamam on information from local residents. The youth is suspected to have been killed elsewhere and his body brought and dumped in the well, police said.

The victim was identified as Chandrakanthan Ravi, 17, a resident of Valliuvarpuram in Thaiyiddi and living in Mallaakam IDP camp.

Mallaakam magistrate conducted the inquest into the death and directed the police to hand over the body to Jaffna Teaching Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination.
