More skeletons found[TamilNet, Friday, 09 April 1999, 12:02 GMT]Investigators excavating the stadium mass grave site in Jaffna town today recovered the skeletal parts of six persons. These were found 3.5 feet below the surface close to the pit in which human were found by Jaffna Municipal Council diggers on March 26. Six skulls and bones were recovered from the soil during the excavation which started at 8 a.m. in the morning and went on until 1.30 p.m. in the afternoon under the supervision of the Jaffna JMO and the Jaffna additional magistrate. Four T-56 assault rifle empty cartridges and five 7.62 m.m calibre empty cartridges were found in the pit that was dug today said investigators. A intact skeleton recovered today measured 4.8 feet from its skull to waistbone and another measured 3.7 feet said investigators. A piece of cloth beleived to be the fold up of a trouser and two pieces of Aluminium plates measuring 4 by 2 inches were found in the soil during the excavation today.
