SL Parliament to meet in evenings in future

Sri Lankan parliament will be meeting in the evenings in future, according to a proposal by the ruling UPFA government in Colombo. Leaders of the political parties represented in the Sri Lankan parliament have agreed to the change the sitting time at a meeting held on Friday, media sources said.

The change of sitting time is to assist ministers and deputies to meet the members of public, the reports said.

Currently the parliament sittings are usually held from morning from 9.30 a.m. till 4.30 evening during the first and last weeks of every month from Monday to Friday.
