University student dies in road accident at EPS junction

A 22-year-old undergraduate student, Shanmuganathan Sujeevan, died in a road accident Friday evening when he was on his way in a motor bicycle with his brother to see his house located between Umaiyaa'lpuram and Ki'linochchi.

The victim, who hails from Kalviyangkaadu in Jaffna, had been a second year Engineering Student in the Peradeniya University.

At Elephant Pass junction on A9, he collided with a lorry following one of the tyres of his motorbike burst suddenly, sources said.

He died on the spot and his brother was seriously injured.
