Tamil civilian arrested in Vavuniyaa

A team of police intelligence unit in Vavuniyaa took into custody a Tamil civilian in Aachchipuram in Vavuniyaa Wednesday night on information that he had been involved in the activities of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the past, police sources said.

Police had rounded up the house of the arrested person and searched. Later police claimed that they recovered some explosives from the house and took the civilian for further questioning. The arrested civilian is being interrogated by a team of the Terrorist Intelligence Division.
