Amidst mounting protests from Sri Lanka against the controversial expert panel, the United Nations has declared that it will not disband the panel appointed by Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

According to a BBC news report, the United Nations have categorically stated that Ban is not considering the suspension of the expert panel which has been appointed to advice him on how to deal with several controversial issues over Sri Lanka including alleged human rights violations during the final phase of the war which ended in May last year.
