257 members of 110 uprooted Tamil families have been staying in Periyapa地divirichchaan Maha Viththiyaalayam buildings in Madu AGA division in Mannaar district since Saturday without food to elders and milk food to children. They were brought down from temporary shelters in Vavuniyaa and were left in the school building by civil authorities to find their own way to reach their abandoned houses in their villages, sources in Mannaar said.

128 members of forty-two families of the said uprooted civilians are from Periyapa地divirichchaan East and 119 members of 62 families are from Periyapa地divirichchaan West.

The uprooted civilians said their villages are overgrown with shrub jungle and their houses had been damaged.

But the civil authorities have been pressurizing them to go their villages and to occupy their houses, they said.

How could we go to our villages which have not been cleared, they asked.

Meanwhile, they allege that they have not been provided with essential relief materials after they were dropped at the Periyapa地divirichchaan Maha Viththiyaalayam by civil authorities.
