The UNP MPs who crossed over to government benches were Monaragala District MP Lakshman Seneviratne, Polannaruwa MP Earl Gunasekara, Galle District MP Manusha Nanayakkara, Gampha District MP Upeksha Swarnamali, Kurunagala District MP Nimal Wijeysinghe and Kandy District MP Abdul Carder.
