The Sri Lanka Army, Criminal Investigations Department of the Sri Lanka Police and the Government Analyst Department, after a preliminary investigation, ruled out the possibility of sabotage in the blast and said it was an accidental explosion. The Karadiyan-aa'ru police station before Friday's blast was located in a building of the LTTE.
