Woman found dead in Batticaloa

Kalmunai police recovered Sunday morning the body of a woman found dead in a house in the housing scheme in Chaainthamaruthu area in Kalmunai police division. The neck of the body was tied with a rope, sources in Kalmunai said.

The woman was identified as Fatima, 22, a resident in the housing scheme in Karavaaku Meadduveddai. Her husband is employed abroad, police sources said.

Police handed the body over to Kalmunai Ashraf Hospital and are investigating into the death.
