The Sinhala establishment in Colombo, gripped by fear and paranoia has blocked 400 students of Jaffna university, who were scheduled to leave the University in three buses on Tuesday to attend the funeral of Parvathi Amma.

SL military intelligence operatives in civil clothes entered the University premises and warned the students and the bus owners of 'dire consequences' if they left the premises to attend the funeral.

When the students refused, hundreds of poicemen were deployed around the building. The policemen threatened to open fire on the students if they didn't respect their orders.

The students held a large gathering inside the campus and paid tribute to Parvathi Amma.
