SL colonial governor hands over 200 acres in Vaddakkachchi to Sinhala trader

[TamilNet, Friday, 18 March 2011, 09:23 GMT]
Colonial governor of Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. Chandrasri, occupying the country of Eezham Tamils, ordered this week for the appropriation of 200 acres of land at Vaddakkachchi in the Ki’linochchi district for the benefit of a Sinhala trader from the South. This land is a part of a 1000-acre farm that was given to the displaced people in 1995. Occupying Sri Lanka now refuses to resettle people in the farm. The Sinhala trader personally went to the site to choose the part he needed and Chandrasri ordered officials that whatever was chosen by the trader should be given to him.

Several large stretches of lands in Vanni are fast being handed over to the Sinhalese in recent times.

Sometimes back, at the Saiva holy area of Mu’ri-kandi, a prime location on the A9 Highway in the Mullaiththeevu district, a state land was given to a Sinhalese by Mrs Imelda Sugumar, the then Sri Lanka Government Agent of the district. Following that, many hotels owned by Sinhalese have come up in that place, making the Saiva centre almost a Sinhalicised one.

Similarly, lands are grabbed at Kokku’laay and Kokkuththoduvaay in the Mullaiththeevu district.

Meanwhile, plans are afoot to make young Tamils in the north to work as tailors under Sinhala managements.

The plan has double purpose: to counter the boycott campaign in the West against genocidal Sri Lanka’s garments and at the same time to make Tamils slaves to Sinhala entrepreneurs.

According to Orit Apparels Lanka Managing Director Channa Palansuriya, eight companies are planning to start garment industry in the North. The companies had discussion with the SL colonial commander Chandrasri to acquire lands in the potential agricultural tracts of Vavuniya, Omanthai, Nelukku'lam and Cheddiku'lam. There will be a centre at Achchuveali in the Jaffna peninsula too.

What the world has to realise is that genocidal Sri Lanka is extraordinarily fast in its ethno-centric militarization of all aspects of life in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils, thanks to the complicity of the three powers, India, China and the USA that have served the interests of the Tamil nation on the platter ultimately to set this example of the ‘Asian Model’, commented an Eezham Tamil politician.
