Three arrested in Gurunakar

Sri Lanka Army soldiers cordoned off a house at Gurunakar in Jaffna this afternoon and arrested three people, including a father and his son. They are being detained at the Gurunakar SLA camp, said sources.

The arrested are: Jesurajah Gunaseelan, 44, his son Mathimaaran Gunaseelan, 21 and P.Sasikumar,21.

SLA sources said the house was searched on a tip off.

Elsewhere, a student, Krishnapillai Mathimohan, 17, was arrested by the SLA at Vadamarachchi, north of Jaffna town.

Mathimohan, is a student at the Ponnampalam Vidiyalayam, near the Moothavinayagar Kovil (temple) in Vadamarachchi.

SLA personnel arrested him in front of the school said his friends who were on their way to school with him.

School sources said that SLA authorities had given Mathimohan's parents a signed receipt confirming his arrest.
